Oncology Home Care
Oncology Home Care Patients needing Oncology care in their home receive special attention from our Home Health nurses who help them perform daily living activities and work to rehabilitate each patient to the greatest extent possible. Our Oncology nurses have received specialized training and are experienced in providing care to the patient, focusing on the physical, functional and emotional needs of their recovery. We also ensure that the patient's family understands the goals of our care and rehabilitation plan.
Oncology care, assessment and instruction for the patient and family will be provided in the following areas:

The disease process

Signs and symptoms of complications

Nutritional Patterns, including need, intake, status, presence of symptoms negatively affecting the nutritional status

Elimination Patterns, including gastrointestinal, genitourinary

Neutropenic Precautions, including presence of factors placing patient at risk, signs and symptoms of infection

Thrombocytopenic Precautions, including adjustment of lifestyle patterns to prevent bleeding, appropriate interventions to manage bleeding

Rest and Sleep Patterns, including rituals, presence of fatigue patterns
-
Coping Patterns, including past and present, effective and noneffective, psychosocial aspects of death and dying
-
Radiation Therapy, including side effects and appropriate actions to take

Chemotherapy and Medications, including action and adverse reactions
-
Pain Control, including use of invasive and noninvasive interventions for pain management
-
Emergency Care, including when to call your physician or 911.
