  • Radiation tissue damage
  • Infection
  • Trauma

At the Center For Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, we follow treatment protocols specifically established for each type of wound. We utilize the most current approaches in healing wounds by staying up-to-date with the latest scientific advances in wound care. Our intense, multidisciplinary approach to chronic wound care equals the best possible outcome for our patients.

Center For Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine   |  Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a treatment in which you breathe 100 percent oxygen while enclosed in a clear, specialized chamber at greater-than-normal atmospheric pressure. While breathing pure oxygen, your blood plasma becomes saturated, carrying 20 to 30 times the normal amount of oxygen to the body's tissues. The ultimate result is that the body's natural wound-healing mechanisms, which are oxygen dependent, are able to function more efficiently.

Continued, intermittent use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy increases the body's immune and healing response, helping to halt the growth of anaerobic bacterial organisms. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a well-established specialty and is useful in treating the following:

  • Crush injuries and suturing of severed limbs
  • Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency and traumatic ischemia
  • Preparation and preservation of compromised skin grafts and flaps
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Radionecrosis
  • Enhancement of healing selected problem wounds

Our state-of-the-art hyperbaric chamber is designed with your comfort in mind. The clear, acrylic chamber offers total visibility and freedom of movement, which is especially important for anyone who suffers from confinement anxiety. While undergoing treatment, you can sit up, watch television, listen to the radio, or take a nap.

Center For Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine   |  Your Wound Treatment Program

Upon referral to the Center For Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, you will meet with our staff for a consultation where you'll receive a thorough diagnostic examination and medical history to identify the type of wound that you have and the underlying problems causing the wound. We will then develop a program specifically tailored to your needs based on the most effective treatment options available. Once the treatment plan is initiated, you will visit the center on a regular basis for treatment and to evaluate the progress of your healing. You will also receive education on at-home wound care and how to protect your wound from further injury. It is very important to remember that you are a key element to your healing process. Keeping appointments and following directions are critical to a positive outcome.

The Center For Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine is here to assist you in your healing process. If you would like more information, please contact us at 1-866-89-WOUND.
