Lactation Center
The Women’s Center at University Community Hospital supports women in their choice to breastfeed their babies. Our Lactation Center provides a comprehensive one-on-one program that will aid you in successful breastfeeding and help you develop confidence in your ability to nurture your baby. The Lactation Center is staffed by registered nurses who
have experience in maternal-child nursing and are internationally board certified in human lactation. They work closely with you and your physician to assist you in achieving your personal breastfeeding goals.
Breastfeeding can be a rewarding experience for you and your baby. Learning to breastfeed takes practice, patience and persistence. The Lactation Center was developed to answer your questions about how to:

Determine that breastfeeding is going well

Know your baby is getting enough milk

Return to work or school and continue breastfeeding

Know how to obtain qualified assistance within the community
The Lactation Center offers:

Bedside, outpatient and telephone consultations

Certified bra fitting and sales

Breastfeeding supplies and breast pump rental and sales

Weekly New Mothers' support group
Services provided by the Lactation Center are available to patients of The Women’s Center as well as new mothers throughout the Tampa Bay area. We are here to help you breastfeed your baby for as long as you choose to do so.
