Bilateral Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation
Bilateral Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation (sterilization) is a surgery that is performed to prevent a woman from getting pregnant by permanently closing the fallopian tubes. The surgery is minimally invasive, meaning it is done through a "thin telescope" thatis inserted into the abdomen through one or two small incisions. The fallopian tubes are permanently sealed through burning, cutting or the use of clips. Although there is a slight chance of getting pregnant after the procedure, this surgery should only be considered if you’ve made a permanent decision not to have any more children now or in the future.
