Restrictions at University Community Health Campuses
State and federal laws, regulations and policies that limit access to certain service areas or departments bind University Community Health. This may apply particularly to the emergency, critical care units, maternity departments and operating rooms. Requests by media that are in conflict with regulations, ordinances or University Community Health policy must be cleared.
The emergency room is an example of a treatment area to which access is usually limited to patients and persons engaged in their care. If reporters wish to speak to or photograph persons being treated in the emergency area, they need to contact the Public Relations & Marketing Department who will attempt to make arrangements and obtain the patient’s and the physician’s authorization.
